Sunday 4 August
The long haul flight was tiring, but on arrival in Dublin we had a night at a lovely airport hotel (off site) in the grounds of a former Lord’s estate, called Santry Demesne in the Northwood area. We were transported back to the airport arrivals area for collection by “My Ireland Tours” guide the next morning. We explored the village of Dunboyne and spent the first night of the tour at Dunboyne Castle Hotel just outside Dublin. The tour proper began today with a stop at Trim Castle, the largest Anglo Norman castle in Ireland. Part of the movie “Braveheart” was filmed here. We then continued North to Belfast, spending time at the biggest attraction at the shipyards - the Titanic Experience. We have had typical Irish weather - it is raining, so photos are limited. Looks great!
